چکیده

We study the antiferromagnetic phase of the C60-polymer doped with one electron per one C60 by using a tight-binding model with long-range Coulomb interactions. The model is solved by the unrestricted Hartree-Fock approximation, and a phase diagram is obtained by changing Coulomb interaction strengths and a conjugation parameter between C60 molecules. We find that the antiferromagnetism is well described by the present model. The comparison with the photoemission studies shows that the new band around the Fermi energy of the A1C60 phase can be explaind by the extremely large intrusion of an energy level into the gap of the neutral system. This indicates that the interaction effects among electrons are important in doped C60-polymers. ∗E-mail address: [email protected]; URL: http://www.etl.go.jp/People/harigaya/

Electronic Structures in C 60 -polymers

Variations in the band structures of C60-polymers are studied, when conjugation conditions and the electron number are changed. We use a semiempirical model with the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger type electron-phonon interactions. In the neutral onedimensional C60-polymer, electronic structures change among direct-gap insulators and the metal, depending on the degree of conjugations. High pressure exper...

Polymeric alkali fullerides are stable in air

Infrared transmission, electron spin resonance, and X-ray diffraction measurements show unambiguously that RbC60 and KC60 are stable in air, in contrast to Rb6C60 which decomposes rapidly upon exposure. The specimens studied transform into pure C60 and other byproducts when heated above 100◦C, approximately the temperature of the orthorhombic-fcc phase transition. The stability of these compoun...

Calculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method

In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...

Electron conductive three-dimensional polymer of cuboidal C60.

Single crystals of three-dimensional (3D) C60 polymer were prepared by the topotactic conversion of two-dimensional (2D) C60 polymer single crystals at a pressure of 15 GPa at 600 degrees C. The x-ray single crystal study revealed that the 3D C60 polymer crystallized in a body centered orthorhombic space group Immm, and spherical C60 monomer units were substantially deformed to rectangular para...

Metallic and insulating states in two-dimensional C60-polymers

Variations in the band structures of the two-dimensional C60-polymers are studied, when π-conjugation conditions are changed. We investigate the rectangular and triangular polymers, in order to discuss metal-insulator transitions, using a semiempirical model with the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger type electronphonon interactions. We find that electronic structures change among directgap insulators and t...
